Sven-Goran Eriksson Replaces Sacked Clarence Seedorf As Manager Of Chinese Club Shenzen

Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has replaced Clarence Seedorf in charge of second-tier Chinese side Shenzhen.

Eriksson left his job as manager of Shanghai SIPG in November despite leading the Chinese Super League (CSL) team to third in the country’s top flight.

The Swede has opted to step down a league to take charge of Shenzhen after former Real Madrid and Netherlands midfielder Seedorf was sacked following failure to earn promotion to the CSL.

Shenzhen announced Eriksson’s appointment on social media, saying the club expected the former Manchester City and Leicester boss’ “rich coaching experience, advanced football philosophy, and intimate knowledge of Chinese football” to lead the team to a new era of success.
