Slaven Bilic will hold crisis talks with the West Ham board today after Saturday’s humiliating defeat at home to Arsenal saw them slip to just a point above the relegation zone
After the game Bilic was scathing of his team’s efforts, calling into question the intensity of both their play and their training.
West Ham are without a win in six matches with a trip to Liverpool up next, followed by home games against fellow strugglers Burnley and Hull.
The club will decide today whether to persist with Bilic or to give him the two games after next week’s Liverpool fixture – both at home to Burnley and Hull – to save his job.
West Ham are concerned that the club could struggle to attract quality reinforcements if their form does not take a significant upturn during the next month.
After the Arsenal loss, Bilic said: “The dedication to the cause is missing. The majority of the team, individually, have lost that intensity. It is not ‘one of the reasons’. It is not ‘maybe’ that. It is a fact, 100 per cent, 500 per cent.” He will be questioned over what he meant by this.
