Conte Not In A Hurry To Offer Costa New Contract

Antonio Conte is looking to secure a domestic double in his first season at Chelsea and doesn’t think offering Costa a new contract is the priority.
Costa still has two seasons left on his contract and rumours have it Chelsea are looking to give him a new contract.

The Spain international has been linked with a move to Tianjin Quanjian, with the CSL outfit looking to give him £30 million a year.
And despite the tempting offer, Conte is in no hurry to secure his striker at the Stamford Bridge.
“I don’t know about this situation because I think now it’s very important to be focused on the present and not to look so far forward,” Conte said.

“I think now for the players, for the people who work for Chelsea, and for me it’s important to be focused on the present. At the end of the season we’ll see the situation.”
Asked if he was confident of keeping Costa he said: “Yes, I’m confident, but I repeat now it’s important to keep the great concentration for the present.

“Tomorrow’s game against Wolverhampton is the present. We must go into the next round and then, I repeat, this situation will be better to face at the end of the season.”
