Hard Fall Leaves OKC Guard Oladipo With Sprained Wrist

Oklahoma City Thunder guard, Victor Oladipo could not continue the Celtics game, which ended 96-99 in favour of OKC after he landed on his back and neck area.

He was later ruled out with a sprained right wrist due to the bad fall.

Oladipo went to contest a corner 3 by Jonas Jerebko, but a pump-fake by the Celtics man, flipped the guard onto his back as his foot caught Jerebko in the shoulder.

“I felt the thump with my feet. The floor kind of shook,” Thunder coach Billy Donovan said. “I couldn’t tell if it was his back or if he landed on his head. My concern was if he was down there breathing. Any time a player is down like that you’re worried because you just don’t know.”

Oladipo was down for a dew minutes by the Thunder bench, before making it to the locker room on his own. He underwent concussion protocol and was cleared in that regard. He also had an X-ray, and the results came back negative.

“I was just hoping he was OK, man,” Russell Westbrook said. “Just got to the bench and started praying for him. That’s the first thing I did. His health, besides anything else, is more important. I’m happy he’s all right and hopefully he’ll be able to move forward for next game.”

“I checked on him and he said he was feeling better,” Donovan said, “but I don’t know if he knows what the prognosis is or what he has, but he seemed like he was doing OK right now.”

Oladipo, 24, is the Thunder’s second-leading scorer, averaging 16.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 23 games this season.
