TRAFFIC WARDEN SERVICE BILL
Under Nigeria Police brazen/questionable influence.
Fundamental questions the Nigeria
Police need to answer concerning the TWS Establishment.
1. Which other two separate Establishments do we have
performing same function, with one dominating, overshadowing, unilaterally
humiliating and relegating the other to perpetual slavery and social injustice,
as obtained in Nigeria Police institution against Traffic Warden Service
Personnel?
2. Why are the
Police always uncomfortable, running helter-skelter, wasting tax-payers’ money
to bribe Government Officials, to retain the Traffic Wardens; not willing to
allow the Traffic Warden Service and the road traffic control function
separated from Nigeria Police, when the Police allows State Traffic Agencies
to sprang up and exist without complaining? Is there anything in the road
traffic subsector that the Police are harbouring that the Police are trying to
hide from the public? Obviously, there must be something that is driving
Nigeria Police anxiety. No smoke without
fire.
3. Is it compelling
and compulsory for Traffic Wardens (who are not Members of Nigeria Police) to
remain perpetually under the Nigeria Police before they can function; when the
Traffic Warden Service is a separate Establishment and the Court of Appeal has
granted autonomy to the Traffic Warden Service. Where is the rule of law?
4. Does the Nigeria
Police possess the right to subject Traffic Wardens to suffer social injustice
and perpetual servitude, as currently obtained?
5. If the Police
were to remain part of the road traffic subsector, why was the Traffic Warden
Service established?
6. Are the Police
untamable and/or above the law?
The Police have
always been complaining of being underfunded. But every now and then, the
Police gather Millions to bribe Government Officials, influencing Committee
Reports that favours the formal de-merge of Traffic Warden Service from Nigeria Police; to enable the
Police continue their perpetrated barbarism and unilateral actions on Traffic
Wardens and the endemic corrupt practices on the road; where the fraudulently
deprives and rob the Federal Government of Trillions of accruable income
annually. Even at a time the nation is in economic recession and fighting to
eradicate corruption, the Nigeria Police are unperturbed, hell bent on
furthering their fraud on the nation. Why?
Nigerians need the political
will to compel the Police to vacate the road traffic control subsector
(where the Police have failed woefully), to allow Traffic Wardens to face their
function squarely, without hindrance and save Nigeria from such laxity,
shoddiness, brazen and endemic stealing.
The Police cannot
see themselves above the law and untamable. The Traffic Warden Service is an autonomous
Establishment. The Traffic Warden Service and her function would no longer be
allowed to continue under such internal neo-colonial apartheid of Nigeria
Police.
